The Arkley Center is pleased to be the new home of Eureka Symphony.
To all who love Symphony Music:
Welcome to the 2010-2011 season of the Eureka Symphony. As you will note, Carol Jacobson, our Music Director and Conductor, has another exciting program of concerts for us this year including an original work, Earthquake Symphony, by our former Concertmaster, Halim Beere. We hope you will enjoy it and the selection of music and soloists for this season. We encourage you to purchase season tickets that provide you with a discount and enable you to enjoy the season from your favorite seat in the house. On the social side, we will be having our Second Annual Opening Night Gala dinner and auction at the Avalon restaurant on Friday, October 22. Meet our composer, Carol, the Board and some orchestra members before our first concert. Seating is limited, so call me, 822-4550, for tickets right away.
We are also excited to announce a special Holiday Concert of an abbreviated presentation of Handel’s Messiah by the Symphony, soloists and a chorus of angelic local voices. This is not part of our season ticket performances, but we know you will enjoy the presentation on the first weekend of December.
Remember to encourage young musicians you know to audition for our Youth Concert Opportunity Awards. The auditions are in November. These awards allow them to play with the Orchestra during our Youth Concert series as well as obtain a scholarship to help them with their music studies.
We look forward to seeing you this year at all our exciting concert season productions.
Sincerely,
Pamela Cahill, President
Eureka Symphony Board of Directors
